As of today, all market stallholders are due to be at the market this Saturday, and we have a seasonal new stallholder with fresh sweetcorn and sprouts on the stem. Gerry Finnegan, a farmer in Termonfeckin, Co Louth will be with us this Saturday with his fresh sweetcorn and sprouts on the stem. Gerry's produce already sells at the Farmleigh Market where he has been a stallholder for the last three years. His sweetcorn tastes great (we tasted it at the Sheridan's Harvest Festival last weekend) and he tells me that by keeping the sprouts on the stem, they stay fresh for up to three weeks and taste great!
At the Pantry, we've just taken delivery of a new product range called Bia Blasta. Our initial selection includes their fresh mayonnaise and fresh caesar dressing (shelf life of 6 weeks) and their sweet chilli sauce. They are based in Dundalk, and the recipes are the creation of Clare McEntegart who is the head chef at Cabra Castle Hotel. We will have all three products on tasting at the Tasting Table on Saturday.
